Born from the silence of lockdown, Jay’s words gave life to Noor The Musical. As a writer, executive producer, and founder of Bilet Bangla Vision, he transforms untold stories into powerful theatre. From early performances in the UK and Bangladesh, the script was translated into English and brought back to the UK. Now, the story has been adapted into a full musical, created with a dedicated team and a mission to bring unseen voices into the light.
Sonali, one of the producers of Noor, is a Speech and Language Therapist with a deep commitment to advocating for neurodiversity as well as ethnic, cultural, and gender-diverse minority groups. Alongside her professional work, she has always been closely involved with the arts and culture. A passionate writer, Sonali creates poetry, articles, short stories, and blogs, and is a dancer trained in Kathak (Indian classical dance), Bengali Tagore dance, and Indian folk traditions. She believes that every element of the universe carries a profound story, waiting to be discovered through a creative lens.
Becky is a Creative Producer, Project Manager and art consultant. She has over 10 years’ experience collaborating with cross-disciplinary partners and community groups to make inclusive creative projects, exhibitions and events. Becky is passionate about art and culture as a vehicle for storytelling, engaging diverse communities and animating non-traditional arts spaces. She has a particular interest in curating imaginative public programmes and events that are accessible to everyone and lead to connection and meaningful dialogue.
Brandon has a varied creative background and brings his unique skillsets to Noor. With his combined studies in Music Composition, Musical Theatre and Acting he was able to easily adapt Noor the Play into Noor The Musical, working closely with Jay and devising entire new scenes that will make the musical version spellbinding!
Sudip Chakroborthy is a theatre practitioner. He is trained in South Asian traditional performance culture, both as a performer and as a director. He has been actively involved with numerous theatre creations, workshops, seminars, conferences and festivals. His theatre direction, designs and lectures have been performed on the international stages in Bangladesh, India, Bhutan, South Korea, Iran, France, England, Scotland, Wales, the US and Canada.Sudip was awarded a PhD degree at Goldsmiths, University of London in 2021. He teaches at the Theatre and Performance Studies Department at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
